— Joel & Michelle
Hey…
Hey, nice to meet you! Chances are you’re either here by accident or because you want to find out more about the guy in the photo. I’m Joel, and the other person is my wonderfully supportive wife, Michelle.
Scroll through this page to find out more about me, my faith, my family, my current project and to connect to my socials.

More about Joel
My full name is Joel David Brigham, although most people just call me Joel. My kids call me “Dad” or the occasional “Daddy” from the youngest of the three. (That’s my middle child laughing in the bottom of the photo beside me) A bunch of people at my church, Hope CRC, call me “Pastor Joel.”
I live in beautiful Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, my hometown, although my heart is spread across this country. We’ve lived in a number of different places and fallen in love with the people and communities we’ve left behind.
I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. Through what He’s done for me, I’ve been adopted into God’s family. I try to centre my life on the person and teachings of Jesus, letting everything else flow from there. I love sharing my faith with others (would love to chat more with you about that) and my most recent project is about that.
I enjoy starting projects and I’m sure Michelle would like me to finish more. I build stuff, sometimes from wood. I play soccer in the local men’s league, although every year it seems like people keep getting faster. And I like drinking coffee, probably too much.
Quick summary of the above facts:
- Husband and father of 3
- Pastor of a local church
- Love Jesus and I’m happy to tell you more
- Wood, soccer, getting old, coffee
What if sharing your faith felt more natural?
Introducing The Good News People, a daily devotional and group guide for sharing the good news with others.
I believe the good news of Jesus is worth sharing. But knowing how to share it with the people around us doesn’t always come naturally.
I wrote The Good News People to help Christians grow in their understanding of the gospel, deepen their relationship with God, and become more confident in sharing their faith.
You can work through the daily devotionals on your own or gather with others every seven days to reflect, learn, and encourage one another using the included group discussion questions.
What started as video devotionals and sermons for my own church has grown into a resource I hope will encourage people and churches everywhere.

Feel free to have a look around my social channels. I’m warning you, there’s about a year and a half of Dad Jokes I did, it was a thing. You’ll also find video devotionals that explore many of the same themes as the book.
